I am switching distributors so I decided to up the game of this Remaster of the Remaster. Originally under the name 'Time Design', the album was a project that I talked Colleen Kelley into doing with me long ago. Colleen is a fantastic singer and actress who I got to travel and play in a band with for many years. She has got a voice that reminds me of thick chocolate milk. Colleen puts forth some really great performances on the songs. We played in a popular local band together called 'Tracer' but since I had a recording setup, I wanted to do something different, a project something like the Eurythmics. It was a collection of about 8 songs recorded on a Fostex 16 track 1/2 inch machine through a Tascam model 15 mixer and then a Tascam M2600 mixer. I had my Fender Jazz bass and my green Mean Gene guitar. I think my drum machine was a Korg DDD-1 and my synths were a Korg Poly 800 and Yamaha DX 100. Both those synths had sounds that I just couldn't get on any of the other instruments since. Those tools were, by today's standards, archaic but It got the job done. One of those songs 'Getchaback' went on The HeartThieves album. I sang the original version. Of course nowadays, there are countless choices of software. My weapons of choice are Macbook Pro running Logic ProX, a myriad of Waves, UA and Softube plugins and various softsynths. Still got my Mean Gene and Jazz bass tho.
Also added to the album were songs that were recorded with our band Tracer that I had written. The band stuff with the live recordings are always fun but not always easy to pull off due to schedules and rehearsals. Luckily the band was together to record those tracks at the time. The other players from Tracer on Revival include Jim Stromberg on drums, Rocky Blythe on guitar and Scott Radosevich on keyboards. Keith Forrest on Sax and William Simpson on Lead Guitar add more spicy performances on several tracks.
